今天，一年一度的英语节在培德楼上的六楼报告大厅如火如荼的举行了。
为了今天，我以前可是大下功夫，又是写稿子，又是让妈妈帮我认识新单词，又是自己背稿子，终于等到了今天。
我自信满满的`走进大厅。妈呀！吓死我了！这里居然聚集着这么多人。有五年级学生、老师、各年级的英语老师。嗯？还有两个老外！看来，我今天得好好表现了，为自己、为班级而争光。
比赛开始了，我是28号，也就是最后一名，我感受到我的心就像一个调皮的小精灵一样，跳得七上八下的——好紧张。该我了，我走上台，感到腿有点发软，好像马上就要瘫在地上了一样；手有一点发颤，好像马上就要把话筒掉在地上一样。当我看见两位老外在默默地为我鼓掌时，我便又鼓起勇气，继续往下背。我的腿不再发软了，我的手也不再发颤了，我的精神又饱满起来。
因为我有一点拘谨，所以只得了二等奖。我很失望，因为我原来可以得到更高的分数，但我依然很开心，因为我体验到了我以前从来没有体验过的感受，还受到了一个使我一生受益的启发：只要有付出，就一定有回报。
英语是世界通用的语言，所以我一定要学好英语。长大为祖国增光添彩。
